What kind of rodent should I get?

The only thing is that i heard rats are much smarter, and i have enough time on my hands to teach the animal commands and stuff, so if a rat would have a wider range of learning ability i’d get a rat:)

Yes they r smarter, but I have found they tend to bite more often than guinea pigs. But as u said rats r smarter and can learn more

Get a chinchilla!

My sister had gotten many rats, and I loved them so much. rats actually lick you and its soo cute. & they will just hang around on your shoulder.

hmmm..all my friends who have rats have never been bitten from them, but i guess it depends on how often the animal is held:) thanks for your look on things:)

Personally, and i have no idea why, but i just have a soft spot for hairless rats. they’re so rinkly…specially when you can see where their markings would be if they had hair. idk..i’m weird haha

You should get a rat. I’ve had several rodents & by far my favorite is my rat. She’s lasted the longest, they are so smart(mine knows her name & when I tap on her tank she jumps on the rail & waits for either kisses or treats), their clean, their cheap, their low matinence, & they don’t smell. I clean her tank maybe twice a month, it doesn’t smell at all. I just love them.

Inot sure what breed some were. I know she had 2 hairless rats though.

Yeah. Hamsters are lazy & just sit around, eat & get fat. Guinea pigs are more like rabbits, they poop a lot, they smell & their really noisey. I don’t really know about breeds, I just get the feeder rats. My rat is a female & shes perfect.
