Is it really ok to have many "notches on your bedpost"?

Is it really ok to have many “notches on your bedpost”? I just got finished reading Resolutions Not to Make This Year on Cosmo’s website And number 10 says not to try to keep your numbers down.. which I’ve always tried to do. I’ve never regretted it either.. but I have wondered would it be ok to just have sex with who I wanted.

Yes, Im 18.. I’ll be 19 Feb 2009. I started having sex early.. at 13.. but I dont think I have had sex with too many people probably a little more than 10. But thats not answering my question at all so… I was just wondering because sometimes there are people who I want to have sex with just to see what its like to have sex with them.. but like I said I try to keep my numbers down.. BUT I’ve always wondered was it really a bad thing to have sex with a lot of people if you’re being safe? I dont mean like going to this person to that person them back to this person and then on to another. I just mean like having sex with a person for like 2 months or some time then maybe a lil break then having sex with another person. SO! The question is!

IS IT OK TO HAVE HAD SEX WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE IF YOU ARE BEING SAFE??
