Is it normal to bleed chunks while on birth control?

i just recently switched my birth control and for the past two days i've been noticing light spotting/bleeding. is this normal?

My cycle been lasting 7 days but I am birth control and it suppose to cut down the days but its not should I tell my doctor? ...
