Is it normal that I love my Mom more than my Dad?

My dad yells at me a lot so I’m starting to hate him whenever me and him are in the car we never Talk And when ever he is mad he takes all his fustration on me My mom already told him but he keeps doing it My dad his overprotectiveI don’t feel comfortable hugging him or telling him I love him!

What should I do?

Dear fau,

Men are naturally over bearing it is a normal reaction from them.they feel a need to protect what is theirs it is just how God made them to be

I would try and mend your relationship with your father and try to talk things out it is important after all he is always going to be your father,

Well, it isn’t necessarily “normal”, but it is undestandable if he is treating you this way. Your Mom has talked to him, but have you? Does he know that you wish you could make your relationship work? I would sit him down and explain how you feel. Let him know how you are affected by his actions or inactions. And have your Mom nearby to support you if necessary, but otherwise have her stay quiet so he doesn’t feel you’re ganging up on him.

I have the same situation but I think that parents are parents and even if you love one more than the other one we should always keep respect because if you show no res[ect you will not get any of that back and usually dad are overprotective and just dont want to see their babies grow up and in my case I get along better with my mom than dad but I have to learn how to respect them both because they both want the best for you and whether they should it or not they get hurt when we reject them.
