Is "irregardless" a word?

I say “regardless” and I’ve heard arguments on both sides, so I was wondering which way is more correct.

irregardless is not correct.

You don’t actually get a word like irregardless. It is a slang combination (generally used humourously of irrespective and regardless. But it isn’t accepted in any dictionary. So regardless is the correct word.
