Inspiron graphics

Hi,

I recently purchased a Inpiron 1545 laptop. It uses a Intel GM45 chipset and a integrated graphics. I feel the graphics is very poor. I would like to disable it and add a new video card to my laptop. possibly a Nvidia or ATI. I believe my motherboard has a PCI Express slot. But still I am confused on how to add. Can anyone help me?

Hi,

Dells are infamous for soldering their graphics cards to the motherboards. You won’t be able to remove it to replace it. I tried with my Inspiron 4400. It sucked. My next laptop was an ASUS which had 512MB of graphics memory. It was a billion times better. Go with ASUS, not Dell.
