Why can't I save my Pokemon game?

ok so I own firered a pokemon game and I bought a gameshark and I typed codes rite and thety worked in the game and now I cant save what shoudl I do and what wrong with it

hymm well im no expert about the gameshark but I know a lot about the pokemon games! I dont think theres anything wrong with the game or consol your usuing as its rarely heard of games that wont save…but I think the gameshark itself is causing problems…sometimes when you use them you run the risk of loosing all your data, glitches and the game freezing…try playing it without the gameshark and then saving it
