What size retainer gauge do I need?

I’m getting a monroe but my parents cant know I already have six piercing (I love piercings ) but they dont let me get anymore so imma get a retainer but what size 16 gauge or 18 gauge ,is a 16 gauge hole to noticable?

I went up to a 6 with with out my mom knowing an 18 gauge is the size of a regular peircing so youll be able to go to like a 12 right away and for the phoebewill there is no such thing as a 19 gauge?

well I say if you have hair that is long enough to cover it up then go for it! I like the monroe piercing.. SUPER cute but if your old enough like 18..19 then what can your parents do!?? get them. its your body! but if your worried about what they will think about you, then I say wait a year or two and get your parentsused to your piercings and then tell them your getting another one and see what they say. try that aproach

A 16 gauge will be more noticeable than an 18 gauge just because 16 gauge is bigger, and therefore the hole itself will be bigger.
