What does this error mean when syncing my iPod?

Every time I plug my ipod into the computer with the USB cord the computer has a pop up saying that there is no driver installed for it!?!?!?!?!?!

Answer #1

There is no “driver” specifically for the I-Pod. Suggestions:

  • Disable any virus scanners and firewalls, some users seem to have had problems with their software interfering

  • Update your BIOS (always a good idea anyways)

  • DON’T BOOT UP WITH THE I-POD CONNECTED.

  • Manually update the drivers for your system. (Usually found in the My Computer –> right click on properties–> hardware –> properties or troubleshoot). The driver for the PCMCIA adapter is a good place to start. Just make sure they are all updated.

Good luck.

Answer #2

You can find the exact Driver you need on the net by going to IPOD site and entering Model# for product info. They should offer you a specific downloadable Driver program.

I love questions that answer themselves. =)
