How: which one of these 2 is real love?

I dont know much about love, which is why im asking this question. I’ve heard many sayings one is never give up on the one you cant go through one day thinking of (love) and another I’ve heard people say if you really love that person and they dont let them go because you’d want to see them happy. So im 16 years. and just wondering any ideas/answers. im open to any answers :) thankyou,

Unconditional love is loving a person for who and what they are, not necessarily how they act and what they say. You want to be with that person even when you’re angry and sad. You want to see that person succeed in all things, to support them in their dreams, and are willing to be by their side even if you don’t completely agree with their decisions. And should the time come, you wouldn’t hesitate to do whatever it takes to protect them, even if it means taking the life of another or giving up your own, figuratively and/or literally.

Anything short of this is lust or infatuation, and is not worth pursuing. And love isn’t always going to be in the honeymoon stage. That only lasts about 6 months to a year. Love is as much a commitment as it is a feeling. More so as time goes by.
