How to ring pay phones?

Well, the title pretty well says my question. I’m interested in knowing if it’s possible to ring pay phones, and how to do it. I live in Australia by the way, in case that changes things

could someone please tell me where the number is exactly please. I want to know how to do it, because I just think it would be funny to do. To xxthatgirl, I really don’t know how I got that text message, my girlfriend sent it to me though. I didn’t know you could do it either, until she did it.

It is possible to call a pay phone. I was walking into Burger King once and the pay phone was ringing. =O Talk about freaky.

All you have to do is pick and pay phone and write down the number. Then call it.

I’ve been rung on my mobile from one, but it just says it’s an unknown number. I’ve also had a text message from one, where in that case I got a five digit number, which won’t ring when I try. (over here, our numbers are 8 digits long btw)

Well I’m guessing that it’s the same.. I live in England. You have to know the number of the telephone box.. and it sometimes says inside the box.. Or if someone rings you from it you can ring it back and it will be ringing the pay phone.
