How to not forget things?

Im really forgetful, like to the point where it’s really having an impact on my life in general. Is there anyway to make my short term memory better? I really need help remembering faces, names, assignments, to do things, etc. Long term I have no problem with, but my short term memory is really bad. IS there any way to improve it? or to at least not to be so forgetful?

You must not use that part of your brain very much. I saw a documentary and have heard a lot that music helps human function in many different ways. So while you are playing the ‘memory games’ listen to music, maybe in the back ground quietly. Get into the habit of writing things down when you hear them, just to think. Like when you see your friends write down their names and one other fact about them. Example: Jenna, brown hair. Alex, likes soccer. Something rhythmic like Tai Kwan Do does sound helpful. I play 5 instruments and my memory is fine. I think it’s about average but when it comes to music I make up all sorts of stuff and then I can remember it forever, practically.

Hey, I used to be really forgetful then I started doing tai-kwan-do… It reall helps with memory cause you have to remember the patterns and stuff… (Wow my answers are building up.) Sorry about that. I like rambling on about stuff. Also have you tried using well I know this sounds childish but flash cards like flip them over and you have a little while to say the name of that picture
