How to get the dirt and grime out of my lufa?

My lufa was sitting in my shower for a while unused and collected a lot of black grime. Im taking a bath tonight and I wanna know how I can get it out a soon as possible..? Thanks(:

It’s a “loofah”, just for further reference :)

Lufa? Is that what you call those scrubby things you use in a shower? I didn’t know that, hehe. It might not work, but there’s what I would try to do.

Try washing it in a sink full of hot water + soap or washing up liquid. Swirl it about, scrunch it, rub it against it’s self or on a rough surface - whatever you feel like really, till the grime comes off. Finally run it under a cold tap to clean out any loose grime.

I am constantly buying new ones cause ithink it is bad to keep using the same one time aftr time. they contain a lot of germs. and if it has been sittng around for awhile not used the I think you should go to the store andbuy a newone before youtake a bath.

Answer #4

that black stuff is most likley not dirt, but MOULD they easily gather mould when there left in a moist enviroment for a long time, or dont dry properly so the balck stuff is most likley mould you really should throw it out and get a new one

Answer #5

oh thanks, I thought I spelt it wrong!!

Answer #6

Thanks so much, I threw it away, I just used a textured washcloth, ill get a new one next time I go to the store :)

Answer #7

Well… I don’t really know, but a dirty lufa won’t clean you up much. I’d just use a rag til you can get a new one. :)
