How can I get help when I cant talk about what I am going through. ???

You can always fun mail me as a sounding board if you like. Or fun mail an adviser. It’s hard sometimes to get emotions out. If you feel more comfortable letting it out on here then speaking to family or friends, you’re welcome to fun mail any of us. Counseling would do you some good since you’re speaking to a trained professional. Counseling will help you to get your emotions out in the open. It’s never good to keep whatever bothers you inside you or else emotions eat you up. I’ve had that problem myself where I couldn’t keep certain emotions in. I tried and tried to keep secrets from people I’m close too which are my church leaders and a few friends from church. It never works for me to not talk about things that bother me. I don’t know about you but, I’m a person that vents allot. If you keep your problems in for too long, you might end up like me sometimes I get so emotional I do allot of crying. So, Please! either fun mail us, or set up something so you can speak to a counselor. I do understand what you’re going through since I’m going through counseling myself.

Why do you have a problem talking about it? Is it hard to talk to someone else about how you feel? In that case, someone anonymous (like online) might be helpful… If you’re having a hard time identifying how you feel, or explaining it, you might want to see a counselor. They’re trained to help you figure out what’s going on, help you identify how you feel (sometimes it is hard to label an emotion or know exactly what is going on, exactly how you feel, or what exactly is wrong).

And yes, like ethmer said, feel free to funmail any of us… it’s why we’re here…

Simply a Rose to brighten your day,         And maybe lessen the cares in your way;         And also, too, to help you to know,         That in knowing you, many others grow!       Welcome to Fun Advice!

  Fun Mail a “sounding board”!

I would assume that you can’t talk about what you are going through with anyone because it is too personal and you don’t want others to know about it in relation to you.

The solution, then, might be to pick someone on Fun Advice whose advice you like and Fun Mail them. (You can check out the quality of someone’s advice by clicking on their name; going down to their recent advice, click on view all, then click on the questions that might interest you and view their answers.) Explain to them that you are having problems and want to have someone to use as a “sounding board” and would like to know if they would be willing to be your sounding board. Fun Mail is basically private, so you shouldn’t have any concerns about about your privacy.

Although there are many users on Fun Advice who would be qualified, I’d suggest the person be an Advisor, for two reasons: First, most Advisors have several hundred or even thousands of Answers under their belt which can really give you a perspective about them; and second, you can simply click on the Advisors link at the top of the page and view a list of the most recently active Advisors with information about them AND a total of their Answers. (Don’t contact them by that “Ask me a question” link. That’s public. Instead, click on their name which will take you to their Profile page, then click on the “Send me Fun Mail” link on the left side of the page.)

You also have the ability to Fun Mail anyone (Advisor or otherwise) by clicking on the “Send me Fun Mail” link near the top of the Answer under the person’s name.
