How much space do apps take up on a iPod touch?

I have a 8gb iPod nano that has about 1,300 songs on it, and all the space is almost used up. I’m wondering if I should get a 8gb or a 32gb iPod touch because I want to keep all my songs, but I want to put on a whole bunch of apps, and I don’t know if I’ll have enough room if I only get 8gbs. Apps vary in space requirements…and, you can always remove some songs to put back later if you find a few apps that are crucial to have.

So the ipod touch 8 gb version stores up to 1750 songs…given that you have 1300 stored now, you may have as much as 25% or rather 2 gb of storage remaining for apps. Before you download them from itunes, check the size of the file, etc…
