How does this website know where you live?

I just signed up and I didn’t put any information about where I’m from, and it automatically logged my city. Do they check IP’s or something?

I don’t know that they go by zip codes or not. but like the Dude said not 100% accurate. They are way off on mine. But I just left it. Keeps em guessing.

Since this is unanswered, I believe it is when you put in your ZIP code.

Geo ip lookup, same as most websites…eg, your IP address is in a database where somebody mapped out the location of that IP address.

It’s reasonably accurate, but not 100%.
