How do you sing like White Chapel?

I want to know how to scream like in death metal bands… Like in White Chapel, Atreyu, Suicide Silence, All That Remains, and In This Moment. But mostly White Chapel. I read another guys question on this and I read one of the answers but when I tried what he said was to drink a lot of water and to practice well I just tried once and gave up because it sounded like I was just punched in the throat when I tried. Please help

Those bands aren’t death metal… Just to let you know. :) Keep trying? If you’ve only tried once, you don’t know that you can’t do it. I doubt many people get it perfect on their first go.

You could try listening to real death metal and not that pansy crap… All hatred aside, it takes practice to learn to scream in different styles. You can’t just expect to drink a glass of miracle water and be able to scream like that, there is effort involved. I don’t know what kind of style you’re going for exactly but practice, it took me forever to beat my voice down to the pitch I wanted it to be at, and if I don’t actually practice (Which I don’t) it takes a while to get back into it. Just watch that you don’t hurt yourself and you’ll be fine.
