How do you get content off a memory card onto a phone?

I own a lg dare and I recently purchased a memory card. And I transfered a few songs and a few music videos onto my memory card(2 gb) and I went on to my phone and looked under my music and videos and those that I had just puton my memory card did not show up then I went to mymemory and all the memory I had taken up by the music and music videos were not present. And I have no idea what to do to retrive them.

I put songs on my micro card and put it in my phone then selected pictures then options and changed storage devices and my music switched over into my phone. I don’t know if it will be the same for yours.
