First, let’s be sure you are talking about a standard poodle so that size is compatible! Have the two dogs spend time with each other for a few months or so to get familiar with each other. Even if the female is shy or aggressive towards the male at first, let them work through their “relationship”. When the female comes into heat, she will probably respond more positively to the male. From that point on, it’s fairly simple. The male may need to attempt to mount the female several times before she allows copulation, so do not assume that she is pregnant the first time you see them ‘in the position’. Keep them together throughout her heat and they will probably mate several times. It is not fail-proof, but very probable that she will conceive and you will have a litter of Labradoodles! Gorgeous dogs!
