How do I tell if my mares are pregnent?

Last year we threw our mini stallion out with three of ourmini mares, two were 3 at the time, and the other 9, the 9 year old mare has foaled many times, and she did have a foal, but the other two havn’t shown any signs of pregnency. The stallion was running with them from August to March, and we know he is not shooting blanks, as he has sired two foals, I find it strange to have two mares infertile, or not catch. I would have thought atleast one would have. They have not been showing any signs of heat, that I have seen, they have a bit of an uder, but not much. So what is wrong? we decided not to call the vet, unless it is our last option, because it’s very expensive, for him to come out, listen to the heart beat and charge 125 dollars each, so I just want to see if anyone has any ideas?

Thanks for reading :)

Get a preg test at the Vets. They don’t really show until the 9th or 10th month.
