How do I put my family on a diet?

My family is very fat. My dad isn’t very tall, but he’s over 220 pounds. And with my mom, you can just tell she’s fat. My sister isn’t so bad, but her but and arms are huge! They eat out every night, while I just make my own seprate meals. My dad snacks on junk food-I’m not even kidding- fifteen times a day! And my mom and sister skip breakfast all the time. They claim they don’t have enough time, even though we have plenty of granola bars, and other very quick things in the house!

I keep insisting to bake them dinner, but they always say- oh no, it’s too late- don’t bother. I want to tell them to go on a diet, but I’m scared they might not- because I used to be anorexic, and they may not want my opinion.

What should I do?

tough. Who does the shopping? Probably mom. Might try going shopping with her and suggesting some small changes to help you in your new lifestyle change towards a new and improved healthier life! Ask your family if they will support you with some small changes, like eating a piece of fruit & whole grain cereal (OATMEAL IS OK)for breakfast with skim milk or 2%. Ditch the granola bars. too much fat! Encourage them to eat a fruit or veggies(or both) with their lunch also. Will help to fill them up! Get them to walk with you after Dinner for an hour! This is a time to talk about your day and re-connect. Go to the park, play frisby, tag, golf, tennis, hike. Find something you all love and do it together! Outside! Moving! No soda’s Not even diets! Unless it is to clean rust off your crome bumper (thats what my grandma use to say). Tell them you really need their help to overcome this. We all need to feel needed.
