how do I know if am dreaming to big?

( sorry for it being long.. there a couple of questions in here I need advice on)) almost alll my life. I wanted to go to college get a good job And move out the hood.but now am starting to think.am hoping for a little to much.my family don’t have money for college. my mom no one will hire me for work. due to me being “handicap” (P.S am not handicap. all I got wrong with me is a speech problem? so if someone can tell me if ill be able to work or not would be great).I mean none of my family ever made it out the hood.if I remember right none of them ever passed high school. I think a couple got there GED. so when I pass high school. ill be the first one to do it. when I go to college. ill be the first one to do it.I don’t see how my family can live in the hood for there whole life.everyone around where I live smoke weed and drink. you hear gun shots sometime. 10 min ago when the new year came in. peoples was shooting. another thing I hate is the parties. that be going on around here. nothing wrong with a party.but seriously these parties be stupid. (ex. 99% parties here peoples fight. gamble. and all the girls do is shake there booty. on the boys. and dry hump them.). when I get a family of my own. I don’t want my kids to be around this. all this violent and stuff. is that so wrong.I don’t want to hear my kids walking around call each other the “n” word ( I don’t want to offend anyone). or talking slang. okay wait I do talk slang.but I can stop that anytime I want. but still the point is it don’t make you look smart.it make you look dumb. when I get older I just want a good job. couple kids. a wife. and to live in a peaceful area. is this dreaming to big?. peoples around here be making it seem like I cant make that dream come true. just cause I got a speech problem.even if it can? happen. am not sure how to make it happen (< need a little advice on that to ).as far as music go I don’t care.

( if your wonder why I didn’t ask one of my family member for advice or friends. well my family don’t give good advice. and I don’t have no friends :D).

No way kid there is no such thing as “dreaming too big”. Just today I was thinking about the kids who were given these bad circumstances, and I came up with it being the parents fault on how they may have made one wrong step in life and it all came tumbling down. And that eventually trickles down to the child leaving them in a tight spot. But let me step back a moment, When you say your parents dont have money for you to attend a college I wonder how your grades currently are. If your grades are high enough you can apply for a scholarship, but if they are not you can always apply for a community college.

That is something that only you can answer, look, having an education is something that not having money cannot stop. Have you thought about having a scolar ship? have tought about meaby putting all your hard work into studing and at ladt let it be paid off by a scolarship and having an education, being the first in your family that goes to callage, the one that shows them that if you believe you will achieve. You see collage is not about having money and going is about wanting it and working hard for it, You pilot your life so you will be able to take it where ever you want, do you want to take it for a crash or for an asome ride and land safetly?? You are giving up and that is not the key to dreaming, believe it from me, I have felt like giving up because my world really is turned around and yet I have not given up and it’s goign great, I have believed in myself, which is what you need to do so you can get your path started.

dude just reading your question, I feel for you, man you have the will to do what ever you want! but its a matter of how BAD you want it, if you want your career to start, go to a college, a high school, or somethign else and ask a career counsellor your options, as for college, apply for jobs in retail, simple jobs like shelf stacking, stock, etc, maybe even fast food, its all a start.

but man, Here in australia I guess were pretty lucky, honestly there is no where here in Australia in which we call something the hood, or the ghetto.

go for your dreams cause just reading what you siad man you can tell you want to make yourself a dream, go for it and dont stop trying!

your not there isnt such a thing as dreaming to big, as long as you believe you can do it and you work hard everyday and do your homework pass your classes you’ll get a scholarship in something and that’l pay for college expenses. or you could get a job and pay for it that way and if speech problem is the issue then get a job that wont have you talking so much. always believe in urself and that you can acomplish anything you set your mind to and it will happen trust me on this 1!
