Answer #1

lol ROFL!!! away ways… stay away from Mcafee and Norton. You are paying for bloat ware that slows the crap out of your computer and just about every ranking of anti-virus software I have read put Mcaffe and norton LOWER than a lot of very nice free anti-virus software, such as Avast! and AVG.

Second, Spybot S&D is great for removing spyware, so is Adaware, and I hear M$ Security Essentials is pretty good all around…but its made by M$…so I don’t trust it.

Next, stop using Internet Exploder and get Firefox, prevents 90% of the issues before they happen.

Techspot has a very nice guide about removing virus’s and spyware here: http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html

You have malware.

Run an antivirus with up to date signatures and then run multiple malware scanners.

You can get some of them for free. Try Microsoft Security Essentials, it’s free and lightweight.

Just a simple step

    • go in your Start
    • Click on RUN
    • type msconfig
    • then Services
  1. Tick out the unwanted activities services running other than your Antivirus and computer file. ( Do not tick services which are running from MICROSOFT)

your Computer will never show you any pop up again, no need to download any antivirus.

thanks Sam

I 100% agree with torturdchaos…

download Firefox

get rid of IE: Do your PC a favour and just uninstall it or at the very least remove access to it..

Do not use Norton or Mcafee as they are system hogs and use way to much cpu and memory time… In the end they just slow your PC down

download AVG 9 free edition… and if you like it buy it

I use AVG and have done for many many years…

Im a gamer and my PCs speed is very precious to me. I will use nothing but AVG ;)

Answer #5

Yep, you got malware. Google pop-up blocker probably isn’t going to do anything.

If you have someone in your house browsing porn sites, whether it’s you or your brother (not here to judge), you MUST get antivirus protection. To surf without it is seriously asking for major headaches. So spend the $30 and get Macafee or Norton ASAP.

For the moment, download Malwarebytes and Hijack This. They are very robust programs, much much more so than anything Microsoft is putting out. They will not protect you from incoming attacks, but they CAN locate just about anything that is already on your machine.

Answer #6

Download google toolbar and this should block popups.
