The problem with your questions is boys (and girls) tend to react badly when you pretend to be someone you aren’t just to get their attention. Once you’re in the relationship, the ‘’doing extra’’ bit falls away, and then you both realize that the entire relationship was based on a lie.

Say you like a boy who loves and lives to ski, so you join ski club, buy lift tickets, and take lessons, but you loathe everything about it. You might attract his attention in the short term, but what happens when he still loves to ski and you still hate it? That’s not a relationship that either of you is going to have much fun in.

So maybe you don’t want to hear ‘’be yourself,’’ but it’s still the best advice you’re going to get. Anything else is a recipe for disaster.
