How do I find the distance and time?

Ok, so I have some science homework and it is about velocity, time, and distance. It has already given me the average velocity, but I need to find the time and distance for each. (there are 10 questions, and 5 are missing the time and 5 are missing the difference). Example: Austin has an average velocity of 2.73 m/s His time is 3.66 seconds. But how do I find the difference? It has something to do with cross multiplying. And it is really important I figure this out. step by step works best, and thanks!

Answer #1

it’s really not… seriously, once you learn the triangle, you never forget it, and it’s really simple…

Answer #2

lol, the triangle gives you an easy method to learn the formulas… it’s just a memorization trick… it has nothing to do with actual triangles…

Answer #3

thank you,I think this might help and I can use it but my homework is about how fast people run, not about truangles…

Answer #4

Do you know the triangle? (you multiply the ones at the bottom to get the top, and you divide the top from bottom to get the sides)

  d

v t

v = d/t d = vt t = d/v

so you have v and t

so d = 2.73 x 3.66 d = 9.99m

Answer #5

oh, hahaha. I was not really paying attention in class…he just said that we had to show all our work and it looked really compplicated.
