How do I create web addresses?

I already have a domain, call it mydomain.com, and I’d like to create a web address in this format:

anyword.mydomain.com

Do I have to work through my web host?

my web host does offer it, I was confusing the idea with managing dns records…

sub domain?

should have all teh stuff to create the addy in your ECP… web tools - sub domain

thats if your package has them ;)

the subdomain name has to be an option which your host offers

turns out I had to do the dns Cname thing anyway,

so what I was not doing was creating the subdomain in the hosting area…
