How do I convince people that we're only friends?

Please note that I am changing the names.

My friend Ellie has a friend called Jon. Recently Jon has become really close to me and I know that Ellie hates this. Ellie is one of these girls who loves to be fancied by everyone, she is the low revealing top and rolled up skirt type. Jon is always very affectionate towards both of us, he always hugs us and holds hands with me at break, he has also taken to kissing me recently. Today at break they were grinding eachother as a laugh and she was getting really into it. Yet everyone thinks that I am going out with him, even my ex boyfriend, why can’t they see what him and Ellie get up to?

You have passed certain boundaries, for sure. You guys are pretty much friends with benefits. You’re lucky people are only saying that you guys are dating and not that you’re friends with benefits. When they start saying that, you’re really going to get upset.

Answer #2

Does it matter if everyone does think that you’re a couple? As long as you aren’t, what’s the deal? I seriously wouldn’t mind people passing around false rumors as long as I knew by heart that they were not true. You shouldn’t care what anyone thinks. Plus, why would you kiss and grind on a friend? You’ve passed certain boundaries.

Answer #3

Kissing? Holding hands? I don’t think you can convince anybody with those actions.
