How do I ask him to chill without him thinking I like him?

OK I have a dilemma here- I am typically a shy girl, and I live in an area where nobody from my school lives… last week I found out this boy from my french class lives 2 houses next to me!!! we walked home together and it was so much fun. I want to hang out with him again, like when I’m bored on the weekend or after school and he seems cool and lives so close to me. my problem is, how do I ask him to chill and stuff without him thinking that I wanna go out with him? especially since I became single not that long ago, and I dont want him to get that impression… what do I do?
