How can I recreate my work history?

How can I make a complete work history for myself if I have forgotten dates and other information, without doing some kind of expensive background check on myself? Thanks, Dan

You can contact your previous employers for a copy of your work history and any files they maintain on you (which they are required by law to do for a period of time after you work there).
