Hi, im currently a Junior in a highschool filled with 85% white people, 14%black, 1%Asian and other. Guess where I fall on the category? the 1% part for the asians and other. My current problem is (well, its been my problem since middle school..) is that It’s very hard for me to approach someone in school to be a friend because im very worried that they wont like me because im an Asian! Im not saying I don’t have ANY friends but im just saying why is it so hard for me to have close friends or have some random person approach me first to be friends? Im really not ugly or anything.lol. In fact, im pretty well built (weight lifiting since 8th grade), and not a bad looking person or anything. can you guys help me???

I dont think at all that people will not like you because you are asian… I think you need to find people who you want to be friends with and just say hi. I think your problem is that you have developed a pattern for gravitating immediately to the “asian group” and now there is no group for you! You need to broaden your horizons! There are other races besides asian that are just as wonderful to be friends with! Try to chat with people who you have similar classes with.

Dude, I am the same way. My school(I’m in 8th grade) is 93% white 6.5% Mexican and 0.5% Asian. Clubs are a good way to make friends. And Sports.
