How can I learn to love myself?

I need to find good qualities within myself. Sometimes I feel every lonely and I think it’s because I don’t really what I have and constantly compare myself to others.

Hmm. This is an exercise one of the visiting professors had us do. She made us think of someone who loved us, cared for us, thought we were absolutely wonderful. Then we were supposed to pretend to be them. And we’re supposed to talk about why that person loved us. What qualities about us made them want to be around us. Now, list those qualities on a piece of paper (e.g. I am loyal, I am thoughtful, I am a good listener, I am lovable, etc). Every week, take one quality. Write it on a note card. And stick it to your mirror. As for the comparison bit. There is always going to be someone smarter, more beautiful, more talented. That’s just the way this world works. Even the best of the best do not keep that position for long. But so what? There is no one on this earth that has your exact combination of qualities. Be grateful for having what you have. And remember, that being loved has nothing to do with being great or perfect at anything.

What my friend did is every morning look in the mirror and say, “I love myself” one hundred times. She said it made her feel better about herself. And when you compare yourself to other people say things like, “She may be prettier…but I’m not a Bit** lol or maybe She be skinnier than me but my hair is SO much cooler than hers. I wouldn’t say doing it too often because then you may get concieted, but just every once and a while it might help :D Good luck

Stop comparing because you’ll only drive yourself crazy. Look to your inner soul as all qualities can be found there. That is why we are called individuals. Be the best individual you can be.
