How can I feel pretty?

I’m not trying to get attention, I would just really like to feel good about myself, for once. I’m 13 and a size ten, but I feel ridiculously fat and ugly. Is there any way to feel positive. And I’d appreciate it if people didn’t try to tell me that I’m pretty or not fat, because I really wouldn’t believe you xXx

Well girly, You really gotta have some more confidence in yourself. It may be hard for you since your not used to it, but I promise you will get used to it. Do some really cool girly things, like shopping, even if you dont buy a lot of stuff, get some cute nailpolish, get yourself a mani/pedi, and try yoga. You are beautiful, and your not fat. Let that help you start off ok? :]

hun, I totally understand how you feel. a few things you can do to make yourself feel better are things like.. maybe working out, finding things to do to keep you busy, or start dressing up and getting a pretty for every day :) that last one is what I did, and that always made me feel so much more confident, and it made the boys look, too ;) haha! also, getting yourself invovled in things makes you feel better about yourself as a person, because you start to realize who you are and what makes you tick which is VERY empowering!

You said not to tell you that you are pretty but you are. Like honestly you are gorgeous. If you want to feel prettier you should wear stuff that makes you feel good, even if it is not what is “cool”.
You should try joining something new; sports often give you confidence and will help you slim down some.

Hahaha I feel a bit like that too. Well, first off, if you feel really unhappy about your weight then you could try joining a club, or going to the gym or something, or you could say to yourself that you are not going to have any chocolate, sweets or junk food for the next month, it will surprise you how much you really eat :) But I am sure that you are fine anyways, so I wouldn’t worry!

I agree, that you feel more confident and happy if you feel as though you look nice, there are a few things that you can do, one being making an effort with your hair regularly, for example, straightening it or curling it, if you don’t already. You could get some basic makeup, like mascara, eyeliner and maybe a little bit of concealer or foundation. But really, I think that it is better to keep make-up natural and subtle, because people can look really stupid when they are plastered in it!

You could also save up some money to buy some new clothes and stuff, maybe some bracelets, earrings etc. to make you feel more comfortable, I usually find that helps a bit. But really, just be yourself, I wouldn’t make too much of an effort every day, because you want people to like you for who you really are, and its a lot of work anyway! You could also try getting involved in some more things, meeting up with friends more often, because that can make you feel more confident as well.
