How bad is jaw reconstruction surgery?

I have a class 3 under bite and I’m having jaw reconstruction surgery soon and I’m not sure how it feels. Please tell me your experiences if you or a friend or family had had jaw surgery before. PLEASE AND THANK YOU :)

I had an overbite, and had a fixed brace for 18months before to move all the teeth into the right place for when I had the operation. I must say, it was very painful afterwards, and my face look like a hamster with massive cheaks, but it was sooo worth it. I had my jaw wired half shut (not with actual wire, just very small rubber bands) while it healed, which was ok. but it was painfull as everytime I swallowed all the nerve endings pulled in the sides of my jaw/face. I couldnt even swallow the dissolved painkillers in water without it hurting. But, I look soo much better since surgery, so I would definately go through it all again. I can only imagine what you look like, but I assure you, if your having it done, you need it, and if you need it, just think how gorgeous you’ll look afterwards!!!
