Horse Trouble

My Horse Diablo Has Started Sneezing Blood :S The Vet Said its Ok But It Seems To Be Hurting Him, Any Ideas What It Is? x

Answer #1

Does this usually happen after he’s been running / exercising ? Often horses sneeze blood after this due to broken blood vessels in their nose as a result of exertion of running. Allergies, increased blood pressure, being out of shape, and exposure to dust are just a few of the reasons for a bloody nose in horses.

However, it can also be a sign that your horse is having problems with his lungs. It may perhaps indicate cancer or another form of dangerous illness within your horses’ respiratory tract. It’s best to take him back to the vet - owners know best, you should tell the vet that you’ve noticed discomfort in him aswell, that should provoke the vet to do further testing, examining and such.

Good luck.
