I was recently arrested and charged with possesion of controled substance , however it was legally prescribed methadone from a DR for opiate maintenence. I also had marijuana which I have a Doctors recomendation for siezures of which they did not charge me for, they just kept it. So the officers booked me on something that was tottaly legally prescribed to me by a licensed Doctor and that is payed for by the government. I had to bail out for $1000. THE cops never read me my rights. I would like to know what I should do about this and would like to no where to find justice and doesnt the Court see that this is wasted taxpayers money. I think it is false arrest and why do I have to go through all the trouble and lose $1000 that I dont have all because the cops were bored and had nothing better to do. total inconvenience on my behalf. Why should they get away with arresting someone that has no reason to be arrested. I AM very upset over this and I want to fight this. I want my chrages dropped case dismissed and then I want to request for return of my medicine.
Look, if it's a state police officer AND you have a prescription for both, while I'm not familiar with the laws..your lawyer should (even if it's a public defender) be able to help get you off the hook...however, I have NO idea what the law says and a "recommendation" isn't the same as a "prescription"...so, please consult your attorney.
