Why does my hair get extremely big/poofy when I straighten it?

I have naturally curly hair and when I straighten it it becomes massive and poofy I have tried everything (products like sleek and shine, anti-friz, etc) and it just becomes huge. when i get it done at the salon straighten its really nice and thin looking but when i do it myself its huge and unbearable/

Answer #2

You can also try some pure coconut oil on it after you use your flat iron.

Answer #3

Its probably just your Straightener or your hair is too thick. I had the same prob. untill my friend suggested I thin out my hair & I bought a chi Straightener (:

Answer #4

Because your not using any products with it. Try anti frizz moose or a straightening spray.
