Why is he changing his mind about me?

I really like this guy I met in school. I had a boyfriend while I met him but I still liked him. Then my boyfriend cheated on me and I told the guy that I liked him. He admitted to liking me too, he confides in me, tells me I feel perfect (in a sappy way), told me something bad that happened to him, admitted he was scared and not ready for a relationship but still likes me, called me cause he felt depressed only 2 days after meeting me, asked to be my non-sexual boyfriend, invited me over his house and used to call me before he went out with friends, says he enjoys my company. Then he stopped calling and we share a locker, when I saw him by it, I asked to go get something to eat with him and he said “I have to meet a friend, I’ll call you later” he never did. I don’t pressure him at all, he kissed me the day I broke up with my boyfriend and said “I’m lucky this happened” and “I’ll send your boyfriend a thank you note” and “I was happy being single and then you came along” then he said “I’m not ready, I was burnt by my ex” then he stopped calling. What do I do? He started out really liking me and now he pulled back….
