why my guy friend asked me do you have any bf after one year??

Dear Sir/mam, I met one boy last year in coaching class we became good friends then I proposed him but he earlier rejected me because we had a fight due to our common friend who told me different things wrong that he have 3gfs so when I told him that he rejected me ,then I started ignoring him totally and started talking to other guys and he told me one thing don’t think you are over smart,all boys are mad who comment on you and talk to you.Then he also started ignoring me last seven months then now before three-four days I messaged him why you ignoring me and are you angry with me tell me clearly ? and I wrote him that I miss you so much ,on his cell phone then he replied me after three days ,that everything is fine and he again talking to me normally like earlier as good friends but in first conversation he asked me tell me do you have any boyfriend ?and I got shocked why he asking after one year because he never asked me such personal questions in one year so I just want to know reason why he asked me now if you have boyfriend ? and then I said no I don’t have anyone I haven’t even searched any boy in one year then again he became silent so please tell me mam reason whatever you think ..and I love him truly only and waited for him one year this I m not able to tell him again because I don’t want to hurt him as I was ignoring him for his happiness ,so am not getting what should I speak as I don’t want to loose him?
