Hm hhmmm hmm. I can only give you my experiences. I’ve never had any serious complications in the few years I was wearing them, the worst I have had is that they become irritated so I had to take them out. I go tthe whole irritated thing though. I went through a period where my eyes would get really red as soon as I put them in. A few things I noticed: It seems to happen less if:

I put them in straight in the morning, as oppose to throughout the day when my eyes are tired. Even though they may initially redden, I found if I just leave them in they almost always settle down and are fine. Using the computer with them a lot seems to irritate them too. The solution itself, I put my forefinger on the side of the contact lense that sticks to my eye in order to remove some solution and ensure it is a little drier, I have a theory that it’s the solution that could be irritating them. I follow the cleaning procedure properly now (and they say most problems are down to this)

So maybe if your eyes get irritated you could try some of these. I’m not sure which of them help, but they do now. I’ve not had any problems with them since doing this. Also you could ask your opticians their advice, they may have you experiment with different types/ different solutions.
