Getting into colleg with bad grades.

What colleges could I get into for the Spring 09 semester as a freshmen if I had a 1.4 GPA, 1500 on the SAT’s. I’d prefer to attend a division 1 football college.

Answer #1

well… it depends all colleges have different standards. you most likely wont be able to get into a division 1 school cause thats a big school, and they usually have higher standards. so I would try a community college.

Answer #2

i hope you do not take offense,         To that that comes hereafter;         ’Tis only that it’s my two-cents,         Not one penny more thereafter. §;o)       Maybe it would be to your advantage to consider first joining the Air Force for three or four years. That would give you and opportunity to take college courses while you were in service plus they would help with your college expenses a little when you get out. And you might have an opportunity to see a little of the world.

If your reasoning is because you want to play football, you might check into the various service’s academies and their football programs and what is required to join that service and go to their academy and play football.

Answer #3

Your SATs are good, but your grades wont get you into any decent college (unless you’re talking about getting a football scholarship?)

Answer #4

None. You screwed up. Now make a commitment and turn your life around.

Answer #5

Go to a community college for at least a year, get good grades there, and prove yourself. Then, contact those colleges again and show them you are now a serious student. The truth of the matter is, you can’t get into a college with grades that low, not even on a football scholarship. I got bad grades in high school and I didn’t even take the SAT’s but went to a community college and somehow wound up getting straight A’s because I wanted it so bad. After two years, I won a scholarship to Boston University where my tuition was paid in full for two years. It can be done–you CAN get into college, but you are going to have to work for it.
