Genetically Modified Food VS Non GM Food?

I am a 100% organic eater, I also use the 100 mile diet, meaning all the food I buy comes from no further then 100 miles from where I live, and I stay away from genetically modified foods like the plague, my question to you is, do you yourself care about whats in your food and what you eat and do you believe that genetically modified food is a step in a bad direction or a step in a good direction ?

Answer #1

I think GMF has it’s advantages. If you can make a plant grow more, make it more nutritious and withstand harsher conditions then I don’t see why not. I don’t know how I feel about splicing plant DNA to create something like that. I perfer selective breeding instead, it just seems a bit more natural.

I favor organic when it makes more sense, though I do feel it is higher quality. I think that the 100 mile diet has a great idea behind it and I try to incorporate more local foods in my diet, but I also don’t have a problem with frozen vegetables. It’s usually the “fresh” food shipped from mexico to where I live in washington state that causes most of the issues.

Answer #2

far from it

Answer #3
