Is a frowny piercing less likely to tear than a smiley piercing?

I just moved in with my mom and she wants my tongue ring out. We made a deal that I’d take it out, if she let me get something else pierced. I’m considering either a smiley or a frowny. I’m just wondering which is more likely to tear the frenulum.

It kinda depends on your mouth, and your lifestyle. I know some guys who have had smilies and been punched in the nose and the other guy’s fist has ripped it out. But I assume you aren’t really getting punched in the nose too often? Haha. This is probably something you could talk to your local piercer about cause’ they can look inside your mouth and see how tight the skin in those areas are. But why get something that other people won’t see unless you pull open your mouth? If I was doing it, I’d rather get something noticeable like cheek or lip…

depends on the place and position of your piercing, and what sort of activities you engage in… if your careful, it won’t tear: so rock your frowny and smiley piercings well, my dear ;)

Both of those piercings cause irritation to the gum line and teeth. It can cause sensitve teeth and receeding gumline. If the jewlry is too long for your teeth you can bite on it, causing irritation which could cause it to tear. Also food getting in it is sooo annoying. I think Septum or monroe would be cute
