Friends techniques for making them and keeping them?

What are your techniques for making them and keeping them? Do you basically have a few close ones you invest your time in or do you believe in lots who get a little of your attention from time to time?

I have one real friend who I keep next to my heart at all times and that is my hubby.

All other friends are important to me, are worthy of my respect and compassion, and I will do anything for them, but they could never become more important than my soul mate.

and I’ve never had to kiss up

even after all these years I enjoy the company of a select

small group of friends- quality time is so much more

fulfilling, but I still make room for anyone who needs a

listening ear and that warm hug. :)

I have a bit of both, I have ones that no matter how much time passed between phone calls or visits that we will always be there for eachother, and I have ones that no matter when I do run into them, I give them a hug and spend some time chattin with them. So you have to invest if you want to be invested back.

or as I would say, treat others how you want to be treated.
