How can I tell my friend that his breath smells?

Ok, I have a guy friend, i’ve been friends with him since 5th grade, & since i’ve met him his breath have smelled HORRID. It smells so bad sometimes I “secretly” turn away… he doesn’t wear braces, but i’ve been wanting to tell him, because i’m sure i’m not the only one who notices. I really want to tell him, but I don’t want him to take it the bad way. how can I?

I personally would never tell someone straight up that they have bad breath, as it might hurt their feelings. I guess it depends how close you are to him, though? I think a very nice and friendly way of going about this might be to just offer him a mint, tic-tac, or even some gum?

Straight up tell him lol. I find sugar coating the truth just leads to ruin.

Omg I had the same problem n I sat next to him n two of my classes… I dident know how to tell him hahahazxD so I never did n he had a gf to! But I agree with offering him mints n gum is the best thing to do ik I’d b super emberessed if someone told me that unless they were my bestie or family.
