so today as I was walking inside with my sons to my apartment, there was this young teen talking to her boyfrined about having kids in the next year I turned to her and was like look both of you need to think twice do you think you could do this with no problem and they both answered yes so I was like ok you can do then come to my house and take care of both my kids with no help and find out how much you want kids...SO they did and I was cracking up through the whole thing they couldnt keep up with either of my sons and after an hour they changed their mind about having babies for a coupal of years.
So I was thinking if that help them realize what they were going to get into it could help a lot of kids.
So I want to open a daycare but instead of having the normal adults watch them have teens come in and see what its like to be mommy and daddy for a day I think if the see what it all takes it could change a lot of their minds.

I think it's a great idea- looking after a kid can't be as much of a walk in the park as a lot of young parents seem to think (I'm not a parent myself, but I find it hard enough sometimes, looking after 2 young boys part time as my job- I love those guys to bits, but it makes me appreciate the freedom I have right now!). I'm not sure how you would get it up and running, but I'd love to hear about it if/when you do get it going.
I reckon it could run in the style of that programme "House of Tiny Tearaways"- a house where the children and teens stay for a week, looking after 1-2 children each. They are responsible for organising meals, nap times, getting up when the kids scream, generally being responsible for them 24 hours for a week. Over that time, you could have a childcare worker/child psychologist work with them, looking at a budget of how much a baby costs each year, what their schoolwork:job ratio would be, parts of their life they would have to cut back on (going out with friends would be reduced, parties, etc). I think it would give teens a real idea of what it's like. Sure, I can bet there are some really rewarding things about being a parent, but I don't think many teens realise, it's not just having a cute little toy- it's a life you have to feed, change, love, care for, and generally be responsible for.
I really hope you can get this idea off the ground, as I think it would be really beneficial to so many young people. Best of luck!
There is a new reality show coming on either this month or next that does that same thing. It' s called the Borrowers. Should be funny. It's about teen couples that think they are ready for parenthood. lol.
No see I wouldnt just have the teens in the room there would be an expericed adult there if the teens cant do it. I think it would prove to the teens who hard it is to be a parent
This sounds like a really good idea-I like it. It could teach a lot of my friends (I'm a junior in HS) that they really aren't as ready as they think they are to have a baby.
Wow, I think that's a pretty good idea.
The only downfall may be that some parents don't want inexperienced teenagers watching their children.
