How will I keep food on the table?

Ok some of you know I have guardianship of my brothers by now. The problem I am now facing is I got laid off at the hospital because the wing I worked in is now being shut down. I never had this problem before. The board of directors took my resume for a new position but I won’t know about that one for another month or so. I have been saving money left and right because rumors were spreading about this happening, but now that I have no job and my last check and the saved my I am at a dead end. The boys start school back up in about a month. Someone please tell me how to make ends meet before they get home from camp. It will so be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Tough spot, do you have any friends you could ask for a loan, see if they could help you out

Answer #2

You have to talk to all people who you have to pay to regularly. The phone company, the landlord or the bank if you pay rates for your home. Tell them that you are having a temporary shortage and ask whether you can delay payment a month or two. Delay anything that can be delayed. Maybe you could ask your bank for overdraft credit?

Write applications for other jobs and tell people who you owe money that you are doing so. Maybe you can even get a better one somewhere. Also shift to other, similar jobs. You have been working at a hospital? Apply at retirement homes, doctors practices and the like.

Best of luck to you.

Answer #3

Thank you but I don’t owe money yet. And I don’t have credit. Everything I have was given through a will.

Answer #4

I wouldn’t have my friends share my burden. My friends like me have families to raise as well.

Answer #5

I think that tightening your belt and swallowing your pride is in order here.

We all like to see our children restart school in new uniforms, but when needs must, we have to compromise. Do any of your friends have children older than your brothers, if so, they may have some outgrown uniforms for them.

Putting food on the table is harder, it means shopping around and finding the best deals. Buying foods that can be served in a number of ways, this could reduce outgoings.

I appreciate it that you are qualified for ‘caring jobs’ but until the right job comes along, go for anything, anything that will bring you income and tied you over.

I really hope things work out for you.

I have and it isn’t school clothes they need they got new clothes before they left for camp. They need school supplies not a lot but the things to get them through until I get a new job. I have applied to many other places but no luck so far.
