Haha that was funny, a five finger discount is a funny way of saying stealing without paying. In that story, the man accidently told the cashier that his son steals from the shop all the time. Haha that was funny.

It means stealing. I’m guessing people refer to it as five finger discount because you pick the item up with your hand, and steal it.. Lol.
