Answer #2

but i must say that if she is chosing to worship Judas then its bad. i really havnt paid much attention to it so im not sure

Answer #3

well from what i have heard she loves judas in the song… http://funadvice.com/r/152hpmu13tl i think this version sounds really pretty

Answer #4

No I don’t. I feel as though people hear one word, and they are quick to scream “DEVIL”. This song can be interpreted in many different ways. Many of which, have nothing to do with satan. Betrayal is a part of life, and even more so in the music industry. I feel like she is just addressing the issues she faces day to day, and the fact that she may not necessarily want to give up her current lifestyle. Even if the lyrics are taken in the literal sense, I’m not sure how the meaning could possibly be taken for satanism….

Answer #5

me either i agree with you that people have selective hearing and only hear certain words in the songs.

Answer #6

I don’t think it’s either. Personally, I think all of her music is overrated and made to be more than it actually is. In my opinion, Judas is just another bland, overplayed pop song. Even if there is some “Satanic” meaning behind it, or she had that in mind when she wrote it, big deal. That whole theme of God and the Devil, etc; has been done to death. I don’t consider it controversial, and if it was meant to be, it’s a sad attempt.

Answer #7

I keep asking myself why all of a sudden Lady Gaga turned Christian. She was this freaky entertainer whom it was impossible NOT to know. Im not sure if this whole thing is about cleaning up her image or if its really a part of her. theres absolutely nothing wrong with Christian music, i just dont understand where its coming from. especially from HER. yes, Katherine Rose. I read the lyrics. And its controversial.

Answer #8

nope, it’s not bad

Answer #9

I find it bad.she is talking about Judas, which was a disciple of Jesus. He turned on Jesus by talking to the people that wanted to kill him where he was.So Judas is actually considered being like the Devil. She is also a person,i forget what the name is,that tries to take people’s mind off of Jesus and Christianity. So my answer is YES,I think her song is something that should have never been written or released.

Answer #10

well in the song she does say he is a betrayer and a demon but he should be forgiven, which personally i think eventhough people have done terrible things should be forgiven

Answer #11

Not at all. I think people just like to make a big deal out of nothing!

Answer #12

I see no issue with the song. People seem unable to grasp the concept that she isn’t talking about the actual Judas. Judas is a metaphor for a man who cheats on her and betrays her again and again but she still loves him.

Considering she’s a Christian, there should be no conflict when it comes to one song! :P

Wow, thanks for the link to that cover version Rose; it turns Gaga’s mediocre pop song into something really beautiful. I even like that they left out a section of the lyrics, which is unusual for me.

Btw, the song is not about the biblical Judas, nor about a boyfriend. Here’s the key:

“I wanna love you,

But something’s pulling me away from you.

Jesus is my virtue,

Judas is the demon I cling to”

It’s about an inner conflict between two parts of herself, a good and holy part (the love that builds a house) vs. a cruel and demonic part (the love that sinks a body down), symbolically represented by Jesus and Judas. She keeps getting sucked in by her love for the demonic part even though she knows it will only betray her.
