How do you find the degree of polynomials?

i really dont get this i cant figure out what a polynomal is gott example 4ab

and then it says for the next section arange the terms of each polynomal so the powers of x are in ascending order how do you do that

Answer #1

bassically you connect line from one vertex to all the others, not the ones to the side though. This will basically form triangles. The measurement of a triangle adds up to 180 degrees. So from these, based on how many triangles the polygon has you can identify it. Lets say a polygon has 3 triangles, you would multiply 3x180 & thats how many degrees the polygon would have. I think this is what your talking about?

Answer #2

This is nothing whatsoever to do with “polynomials”

Answer #3

The degree of a polynomial is defined as the highest power of the independent variable ( most usually represented as x ). . Please open the image below for a more complete answer to your question. .

Answer #4

Please note there is an error in the text in the image. . The comment appearing in the lines 6 and 5 from the bottom should say “… the coefficient of the x cubed term is ONE …”, . not “… the coefficient of the x cubed term is zero …”.

Answer #5

It is basically the variable with the highest exponent, or power. Ex: x^5+x^3+1 X^5 has the highest power/ exponent, so your polynomial is of degree 5.

Answer #6

I new it! I linked it with something else! (: my bad, disregard all..
