Answer #1

You could cause harm to your esophagus very easily if you pull out one that goes down your throat.

Answer #2

Well I dont know I have never had one … and I wouldnt try to pull one out … just courious why do you want to know…??

Answer #3

It depends what kind you are talking about.

If it’s an I’ve then they don’t hurt and you might bleed if it was improperly tended to when it was pulled out.

If it’s the type that just goes down your throat then I don’t think they hurt but they might be a little uncomfortable. I don’t think anything harmful happens when one is removed.

If it’s the type that goes into your stomach through the abdomen, then I don’t think it hurts except initially when they first do the operation to put it there. I don’t think you could pull it out without doing serious harm.

Answer #4

You need to leave them alone, but I think they’re annoying rather than painful. My mum’s been in hospital for a while and has had several through her nose. When she’s been feeling a bit irrational she’s tried to pull them out and it’s had no nasty effect, but has caused a problem about keeping up her energy levels, so you really do need to leave them in.
